Shire Pharmaceuticals is a UK-based bio-pharmaceutical company founded in 1986 to meet several medical needs that had gone unmet. Shire Pharmaceuticals employees some of the most talented in the industry as they are one of the largest pharmaceutical companies world wide. They have created a division labeled Specialty Pharmaceuticals which focuses on treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, along with their Human Genetic Therapies division which focuses on treatment of single mutation genetic diseases such as Hunter syndrome and Fabry disease.

Eligibility

Shire GI Patient Assistance Program, a patient assistance program provided by Shire Pharmaceuticals, offers the medications listed to the right at no cost for up to 90 days to those who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based off of the following requirements:

You must be a citizen of the United States or its Territories.

You must not be covered by any private, public, or Medicare Part D prescription coverage programs.

Your income must be less than or equal to 250% of the Federal Poverty Guideline for the size of your household (see chart below).

The medication must be sent to the physicians office.
