The Texas-based privately held Mission Pharmacal Company was started in 1946 by H.N. Walsdorf, a pharmacist with a mission – “To develop and manufacture pharmaceuticals with raw materials of superior quality to ensure the very best and most effective product.†Currently making advances in the fields of kidney stones and osteoporosis, Mission Pharmacal is the leader in their field in not only the United States, but Asia, South America, Australia and Canada. Thiola is designed to prevent and dissolve kidney stones, and was launched by Mission Pharmacal Company in 1988. Thiola has been approved by the FDA to treat certain types of kidney stones. Thiola is administered orally via tablets.
Urocit-K is a drug which prevents kidney stones, and was launched by Mission Pharmacal Company in 1985. Urocit-K has been approved by the FDA to prevent certain types of kidney stones. Urocit-K is administered orally via tablet form.
Eligibility
Mission Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Program, a patient assistance program provided by Mission Pharmacal Company, offers a three month supply of Thiola and Urocit-K at no cost to those who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based off of the following requirements:
- You must be financially unable to pay for
- You must be a citizen of the United States or its Territories.
- You must not be covered by private or public health insurance.
The medication must be sent to the physicians office.
Those eligible for Medicare Part D but not enrolled may still be eligible.
