Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc was acquired by OSI Pharmaceuticals in 2005. They focus on developing and commercializing products to prevent vision loss caused by eye disease and methods to deliver medication directly to the back of the eye.

Macugen is a pegaptanib sodium injection launched by Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc in 2004. Macugen has been approved by the FDA to slow vision loss in people with the eye disease neovascular age-related macular degeneration. Macugen is administered through injection.

Eligibility

Macugen Access Program, a patient assistance program provided by Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc, offers Macugen at no cost for one injection to those who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based off of the following requirements:

- You must be a citizen of the United States or its Territories.

- You must not be covered by any private, public, or Medicare Part D prescription coverage programs.

- You must meet an undisclosed income guideline.

The medication must be sent to the physicians office.
