Important Note

The following information is intended to supplement, not substitute for, the expertise and judgment of your physician, pharmacist or other healthcare professional. It should not be construed to indicate that use of the drug is safe, appropriate, or effective for you. Consult your healthcare professional before using this drug.

This medication is used to treat swelling, itching, and irritations of the scalp (psoriasis).

This medication may also be used for other irritated skin conditions as determined by your doctor.

How To Use

This medication is applied to the skin usually twice daily, in the morning and at night, or as directed by your doctor. For proper use of this foam, turn the can upside down before and during spraying. Clean and dry the affected area before applying the medication. To apply to the scalp, turn the can upside down and spray a small amount of foam onto a saucer, plate, or other cool surface. Do not spray the foam directly onto the hands because the foam will immediately begin to melt on the warm skin. Pick up small amounts of foam with your fingers and gently rub it into the affected area(s) until the foam disappears. Continue applying the foam in this manner until the entire affected scalp area is treated. Do not bandage, wrap, or cover the treated area unless instructed to do so by your doctor. Avoid using this medication around the eyes unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Side Effects

Burning, itching, stinging, or redness of the skin may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of these serious side effects: tingling or numbness of the hands/feet, severe headache, acne, hair loss, swelling and redness of the eyes. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of these unlikely but serious side effects: changes in skin color, lip swelling, a severe rash, lines on the skin. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: vision problems, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Tell your doctor your medical history, including: hormone/steroid-related conditions (e.g., Addison's disease, Cushing's syndrome), allergies, especially to other corticosteroid medications (e.g., clobetasol, prednisone). Treatment with this, or other corticosteroid-containing skin products (e.g., alclometasone, hydrocortisone) beyond 2 weeks consecutively is not recommended. Though very unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable effects that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for children and for those who have used this medication for an extended period of time, or if they also have medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. This product is contained in a can under extreme pressure. To avoid injury, do not puncture or burn the can. Caution is advised when using this drug in infants and children because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
