Uses

This medication is an enzyme that is given to persons who lack it. It is used to improve the immune system.

How To Use

This medication is given by injection into a muscle usually every 7 days. It is important that this medication be used as scheduled to maintain the proper enzyme level. Blood tests will be done frequently to monitor your response to the medication and your dosing schedule will be adjusted accordingly. Symptoms should improve gradually in a few weeks to months.

Side Effects

Notify your doctor if the following effects occur: headache, pain at the injection site. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: blood disorders, bone marrow disease, illnesses, any allergies. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Drug Interactions

Some medications may interact with Pegademase and possibly alter test results. Tell your doctor about all over- the-counter and prescription medication you use, especially: vidarabine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Do not share this product with others.

Missed Dose

Do not double dose if missed. Resume regular schedule as soon as possible.

Storage

Store this medication in the refrigerator. Do not freeze it or keep it at room temperature.
