OXYTOCIN - NASAL

Uses
This medication is used to start or increase breast milk production.
How To Use
Use exactly as prescribed. Do not shake the bottle. Hold your head upright and insert the nosepiece into the nostril. Squeeze bottle while sniffing through the nose. Rinse the nosepiece after each use to prevent contamination. Notify your doctor if you feel this medication is not working
Side Effects
May cause some nasal irritation, runny nose, or tearing of the eyes. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: unusual bleeding, convulsions, contractions, mental disturbances. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: nasal passage problems, any allergies. Oxytocin must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Oxytocin passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: all nasal medicines. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Notes
Do not share this medication with others.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and do not double the next dose to catch up. Resume your usual dosing schedule.
Storage
Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight. Do not freeze.
