Uses

Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as "fish oils", have been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, high lipid (fat) levels in the blood (hyperlipidemia), certain skin/scalp conditions (e.g., atopic dermatitis, psoriasis), ulcerative colitis, or certain blood circulation problems (e.g., Raynaud's syndrome). The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Uses

This product has also been used for asthma, cancer, painful menstrual periods, lung diseases, hay fever, certain mental/mood disorders (bipolar disorder), and to help prevent heart disease.

How To Use

Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all directions on the product package. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

Side Effects

Fishy taste, stomach gas (belching), nausea, or diarrhea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: easy bruising or bleeding (including nosebleeds). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: diabetes, certain hereditary conditions (e.g., familial adenomatous polyposis), blood/bleeding problems, any allergies (especially to aspirin). Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this product. It is not known if this product passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: aspirin, vitamin supplements (especially containing vitamins A and/or D), "blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin), anti-platelet drugs (e.g., clopidogrel, ticlopidine), diabetes medicine (e.g., glyburide, insulin), cyclosporine, etretinate, other natural/herbal products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Notes

Do not share this product with others.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Storage

Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
